YCSO Volunteers In Protection

  Patrol persons maybe required to:  
     
 
  • Transport prisoners
  • Handcuff prisoners
  • Assist stranded motorists
  • Transport ballot boxes
  • Herd livestock off the road
  • Secure crime scenes, including death scenes
  • Make welfare checks
  • Make house securtiy checks
  • Patrol neighborhoods in SO patrol car
  • Control traffic at accidents or events
  • Respond to house/business alarms
  • Assist deputies on calls
  • Take citizen reports of non-emergency incidents
  • Provide VIN etching service
  • Attend community meetings
  • Set up speed monitoring radar trailer
  • Check on abandoned vehicles
  • Assist Animal Control Officers
  • Transport evidence
  • Check out illegal dumping sites
  • Maintain firearms proficiency
  • Inventory vehicles for towing
  • Respond to missing persons calls
  • Deliver emergency messages
  • Provide SO/county information for citizen questions
  • Transport jail prisoners
  • Guard prisoners admitted to the hospital
  • Evacuate residents from fire areas
  • Serve subpoenas
